Week 24

A new home! What an exciting time, but I'm glad we have a few months to prepare before the baby gets here. Now comes trying to decide how to decorate the nursery. If only we knew if it were a boy or girl. Perhaps we'll get another chance to find out. In the meantime, we're sticking to something neutral.

We bought a prenatal listening device this week and it's cool! We've been waiting until Peanut is big enough to register movements - and believe me, he/she has not disappointed us. You put the device on your tummy and put on the headphones. You can hear the whooshing of things passing through the placenta, and every time the baby moves or kicks, you hear the bumps and jostles over the monitor. It's called the BebeSounds Prenatal Heart Listener. We bought it at Wal-Mart for $45. We haven't heard the heartbeat yet, but I think a few more weeks are needed. You need to be at least 20 weeks, preferably 22 or 23 before it really works good. Whenever you are feeling regular strong movements. It's a wonderful interactive tool for fathers and siblings.
