This week is a milestone for both myself and Peanut. I'm in my Second Trimester and Peanut now weighs a whole ounce! He/she is exploring the watery world, stretching, turning, moving. This week I felt that "quickening" movement. It was so exciting. I was about to fall asleep, Csaba was rubbing my tummy and talking to the baby, and there it was! Kind of like butterflies in my stomach.
Normally, you wouldn't be able to feel this movement so soon. But research has shown that women who have had babies before can feel and recognize the movements sooner. The uterus is not as firm for one, but most importantly it is because a woman remembers the feeling from before. Even after 14 years, I knew right away the difference between gas and the baby moving. This affirms the baby's presence so much. Unfortunately for Csaba, he has to take my word for it because the movements aren't strong enough for him to feel yet. But he's satisfied knowing that the baby seems to respond to his voice and touch.
