It's May 14, Mother's Day. It's been about a month since my last period. We decide that we'll take a chance and try a pregnancy test, since we are going to visit his mom and sister today. I try not to get my hopes up too high as we try the test. At first, it doesn't seem to work. I fight back the tears and prepare to dispose of the test when Csaba yells, "Wait! I think I see something!" I looked again and sure enough it was starting to show something. We let it sit for a bit and came back. Two lines! Oh my God, it worked! We were so excited, and I ran out to the living room to show my daughter. She started jumping up and down. She's going to be a big sister!
We had lots of fun telling Csaba's mom and sister. We had bought a miniature rose for his mom, and we taped the little plastic thing that tells what kind of flower it is to the pregnancy stick and stuck it in the dirt. When we gave her the plant, we said, "Look at the instructions for how to water it." She took out the stick and turned it over, and with a puzzled look handed it to Csaba's sister. She was like, "Mom, do you know what this means?" When it hit them both, they were all over us, hugging and yelling. It was a wonderful moment. I called my mom and grandma later and told them and they were very excited too. They thought their days of being grandmothers were over. This was the best Mother's Day gift we all could have gotten.
